This Skills Bootcamp in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for business is designed to empower learners with cutting-edge skills in utilising artificial intelligence within an organisation. In the digital age, our artificial intelligence online course is a free and accessible route to enhancing current roles within a business and/or expanding skillsets for future progression. Spread across 14 weeks, learners will explore the strategic application of AI for business performance, growth and development. Learners will consider the ethics, opportunities and challenges associated with machine learning techniques for data analysis and interpretation. Gain the ability to classify and evaluate various AI technologies and understand how AI supports agile data-driven decision-making across various industries.

During Industry Project Week (week 13), you will conclude the Skills Bootcamp by creating a change management plan to prepare a business for AI system implementation and effectively evaluate the return on AI investment.

Please note: This Skills Bootcamp is only suitable for self-employed and employed learners who have secured co-funding support from their employer. Regrettably, we cannot progress applications for learners who do NOT have their employer's co-funding support.

Within this course, learners will complete four units, an Industry Project Week and a Careers Week.

The four units are:

  • AI Integration for Business Success
  • Gain an introduction to leveraging the power of AI for business development, understand and evaluate AI technologies and tools and master AI strategy and implementation. Explore the applied role of AI in driving business growth and development and identify key challenges and opportunities. Classify and explain various AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Develop an AI strategy aligned with business goals and objectives. Describe how to integrate of AI solutions into existing business processes and systems and generate a change management plan to implement an AI system in an organisation.

  • AI in Business: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ethical Considerations
  • Explore data-driven decision-making, ethical and legal considerations and customer experience via chatbots with AI. Leverage AI for predictive analytics and forecasting and understand the value of machine learning techniques for data analysis and interpretation. Identify ethical considerations in AI adoption and usage. Isolate the legal and regulatory frameworks for AI applications and develop a set of policies to ensure responsible AI practices and mitigate bias. Justify how the customer experience can be enhanced and personalised by investigating and suggesting appropriate AI-driven solutions such as AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants.

  • AI-Driven Business Transformation and Collaboration
  • Discover the value of AI concerning marketing and advertising campaigns, including the consideration of real-world examples across various industries. Produce a sales forecasting and lead generation guide with AI and complete customer segmentation using AI techniques. Catalogue “lessons-learned” and best practices in AI adoption and evaluate the impact of AI on business performance and outcomes. Discover how to effectively collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate professional practice and approaches to communication and task completion. Produce communication strategies for cross-functional AI initiatives, manage expectations and foster a culture of innovation.

  • Strategic Business Development with AI Integration
  • Develop a comprehensive and evaluative AI-driven business development plan and set objectives, milestones, and metrics for measuring return on investment. Work on a course project applying AI concepts to a real-world business scenario and produce a presentation of course projects and feedback from instructors and peers. Reflect upon emerging trends and future directions for AI concerning business development and participate in a final Q&A session and course evaluation.

Skills Bootcamps are for:

  • Adults aged 19 or over as of the 31st August 2023
  • Adults who are employed and have their employer's co-funding support to progress within the company
  • Applicants who have lived in England for at least the last 3 consecutive years, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom (there are exceptions for Ukraine or Afghanistan nationals)
  • Learners who are not currently undertaking any formal education, including another Skills Bootcamp
  • Learners who have not studied a Skills Bootcamp in the current funding year
  • Learners who have a reliable internet connection, a laptop or computer with a camera and microphone and access to Microsoft Office
  • Adults who are able to commit to and attend 100% of live sessions as per the course requirements they are choosing to enrol on

Please note, although our Skills Bootcamps are completed entirely online, due to the way Skills Bootcamps are funded, you can only complete a course that is available in the area that you currently reside in.

Following course completion, including attendance at all mandatory live learning sessions and achievement of all course assessments, learners who enrol on the Skills Bootcamp with co-funding support from their employer will be adept at applying AI technologies to enhance their current roles, assist in their professional development and help with the strategic development of the organisation.

Learners will be suitably prepared for advanced positions within their company such as:

Skills Bootcamps are fully funded (that means free) for…

  • Unemployed people (for less than 12 months)
  • Employed people looking for a career change*
  • Self-employed people who are looking to grow their business
  • Employers recruiting an individual who has completed a Skills Bootcamp

*Large employers looking to upskill their current staff will contribute 30% of the cost for their staff members' upskilling. *Small or medium employers (SMEs) will contribute 10% for their staff members upskilling.

14 weeks

You must complete 7 hours of mandatory live learning each week:

In addition, you must complete 1 hour of pre-learning and up to 4 hours dedicated to assessment, employment preparation and career journalling every week.

In your final 2 weeks of the Skills Bootcamp, you will participate in an Industry Project Week and Progression Week to prepare you for applying your learnings to an existing project or challenge at work.

Once you are verified as being eligible for the Skills Bootcamp, you can choose from the below range of days and times to attend your live learning sessions:

Daytime & Weekend sessions:

Tuesday & Saturday 9am – 4:30pm

Please note: You cannot swap between weekdays and weekends.

Evening sessions:

Tuesday & Wednesday 6:30pm – 9pm

Thursday 6:30pm – 8:30pm

*Please note your chosen day and time will occur every week for the full 14-week programme

Because our Skills Bootcamps are of Level 3 standard in England, you will be expected to have some existing knowledge and skills within the subject area or job role that you are applying for.

You must also have:

  • A familiarity with applied use of Microsoft Office Suite of programmes
  • Basic functional skills ability including Maths and English

All AI for Business Skills Bootcamps learners will have the opportunity to receive additional certification in Google Cloud Computing Foundations: Data, ML, and AI in Google Cloud
